A Gaze to Remember

During a photography event in Verona, organised by Ilvy Photo Art Events, I had the opportunity to share a one-to-one session with Daria—a Canadian model with a magnetic presence and eyes you will not easily forget. We photographed outside, in and around an old barn, just as the Italian sun was beginning its slow descent. The warm evening light found its way through the open structure, touching the rough textures of the wood and softly shaping Daria’s silhouette. There was no need for an elaborate concept. We simply followed the light as it moved, allowing the contrast between the rustic surroundings, her quiet confidence and the warmth of the Italian sun to create the story. Sometimes the atmosphere felt soft and intimate; at other moments, her unforgettable gaze brought a deeper, almost cinematic intensity to the frame. What remained was a series shaped by simplicity, natural beauty and the final golden light of an evening in Verona.
